Every breeding dog undergoes orthopedic evaluations, genetic testing, and careful pedigree research before becoming part of our breeding program. Our goal is to produce German Shepherds that are structurally sound, healthy, intelligent, and capable of living long, active lives.

Hip & Elbow Certifications
Every breeding dog receives orthopedic screening through one or more internationally recognized organizations.
• SV (Germany) Hip & Elbow Certification
• OFA Hip & Elbow Certification
• PennHIP Evaluation
The SV utilizes official orthopedic certifications beginning at 12 months, while published OFA research has demonstrated that preliminary hip evaluations performed after 12 months are highly predictive of final OFA certification. PennHIP complements these evaluations by objectively measuring hip laxity, an important predictor of future hip health.
We follow the health screening protocol appropriate for each dog while making breeding decisions based on orthopedic evaluations, genetics, temperament, structure and pedigree.
Degenerative Myelopathy Testing
Every breeding dog in our program is DNA tested for Degenerative Myelopathy (DM).
Dogs can be:
Clear (N/N) – does not carry the mutation.
Carrier (N/DM) – healthy dog that carries one copy of the mutation.
At Risk (DM/DM) – carries two copies of the mutation.
We carefully plan every breeding using these results. We breed DM Clear dogs to either DM Clear or DM Carrier dogs and never breed two carriers together. Because of this, our puppies are not genetically at risk for developing Degenerative Myelopathy.
Health testing allows us to responsibly reduce the risk of inherited disease for future generations.

Every breeding is thoughtfully planned with equal emphasis on health, temperament, genetics, structure, and proven bloodlines.
Each pairing is selected with a specific purpose—whether to produce exceptional service dog prospects, preserve working ability, enhance breed type, or improve overall health and temperament. No pairing is made by chance; every breeding is part of our long-term vision to strengthen and improve the German Shepherd breed.
